Non-Profit Structure & Affordability

We believe financial limitations should never prevent a passionate athlete from competing. As an officially recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, Post 228 actively applies for grants and manages endowment support (including partners like the MidwayUSA Foundation, CMP, and Friends of NRA).

Because of our non-profit status, we are able to lower participation costs for local families by providing:

  • Target Rifles & Gear: Free access to team-owned .22 cal target rifles, precision air rifles, shooting jackets, and eye/ear protection.

  • Modern Facilities: Upgraded range safety equipment, target technology, and range amenities.

  • Competition Pathways: Reduced costs for local league matches (Pittsburgh & Suburban, NEOJRL), high school support (Norwin HS WPIAL), and national camps at Camp Perry.
